Hi there, I'm Avery
A project manager. Parent. Expat living in New York, United States.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built DravoMeltipAvon
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in United States.
BEGIN_OUTPUTWhat This Site Truly Covers (And What It Does Not)
This site focuses on:
- Practical insights from living in United States
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Avery
